Welcome to the Morning Nursery page!
Summer Term 2019
This term we will be learning all about seasonal changes from Spring to Summer . We will be exploring the beauty of our natural environment and will spend time nurturing our nursery garden and developing children's natural curiosity of their environment. We will be exploring the outdoor environment and weather including collecting natural materials. We will be helping to look after our garden during the Summer months including planting and digging . There are also our weekly Forest School sessions looking after our pond and natural environment.
We will be working closely with some local drama teachers to inspire creativity, imagination and role play skills as well as confidence. This will happen during our nursery session alongside our provision. We will continue to follow the children's interest as and when things arise. Recently the children have shown interest in pirates where we have created model pirate ships in role play, treasure maps, searched for treasure in our garden and read pirate stories.
We have recently been looking at the story of The Gruffalo and went on a gruffalo trail to search for him!
Our core books this term include The Very Hungry Caterpillar where we will develop our understanding of the life cycle of a butterfly and Little Red Riding Hood.
We will be getting to know new children joining us in nursery for the new term and finding out their interests and passions which will guide our future planning. You can help your child by talking about the changes in the weather around them when they are out at the park, making collections of interesting items and bringing them into nursery for us to explore. We will be talking about our special people and places and what is special about every single child. If you have any ideas you would like to add just talk to one of the nursery team :-)
