Our topic at the moment is Our garden!
We will be using as much of the nursery's natural treasures such as conkers, pine cones, leaves and many more in lots of our exiting activities from Autumn playdough to making conker faces.
We will be looking at a wide variety of different artists and types of art from abstract paintings to sculptures, observational drawings to photography.
Thoughout the term we will be developing our own ideas and opinions around art and creativity. We hope to enspire children to become mini artist, exploring and developing thier own artistic ability through which ever form they wish.
So far the children have produced some beautiful art work, some fabulous drawing and paintings based on work by the Artist Andy Goldworthy who uses natural materials to create sculptures and collages. We love to follow their interests as that is when deep level learning takes place. If you and your child would like to explore a particular artist or piece of art please feel free to share this with your child's teacher.
We will be getting to know new children joining us in nursery for the new term and finding out their interests and passions which will guide our future planning. You can help your child by talking about the changes in the weather around them when they are out at the park, making collections of interesting items and bringing them into nursery for us to explore. We will be talking about our special people and places and what is special about every single child. If you have any ideas you would like to add just talk to one of the nursery team :-)
