This week in nursery the children have been having lots of fun helping to make bread like in the story of 'The Little Red Hen'. A baker visited nursery and some of the children made a harvest loaf with her. We have also started our new 'Bakery' role play with the children and they have been taking on the role of bakers and customers. Lots of our new friends have been starting nursery so we have been spending lots of time helping them and showing them all of the exciting activities that they could have a go at.
This week some of our children have been very interested in the builders yard. Many children have been working together to build a little wall with sponge bricks then problem solving resulting in them making a cement like mixture to build the wall using the real bricks. They have been trying to find out how to make a real wall that doesn't fall down. After researching the process and the materials needed we decided that we needed to plan a trip to B&Q to buy the materials. The children researched on the internet products and make their own shopping lists for the trip.
