Morning Nursery

Welcome to the Morning Nursery page!

Spring Term 2021
This term we will be learning all about seasonal changes from winter to spring. We will be exploring the beauty of our natural environment and will spend time nurturing our nursery garden and developing children's natural curiosity of their environment.  We will be exploring the outdoor environment including collecting natural materials, and will enjoy outdoor experiences in all weathers. We will be helping to look after our garden during these months including planting and digging as well as caring for the wildlife in our garden. We will be preparing our vegetable patch for planting as the children learn about where their food comes from. They will observe and experience the process of growing from a tiny seed up to full bloom. They will develop an understanding of life cycles and recognise how to care and look after the flowers and creatures in our environment.

As a Rights Respecting School we will be focussing on a different right each half term. This half term will be exploring Article 7- Every child has a right to a name. During group times we will be discussing our own names, special reasons they were chosen and what their name means.

We will be getting to know new children joining us in nursery for the new term and finding out their interests and passions which will guide our future planning. You can help your child by talking about the changes in the weather around them when they are out for a walk. We will be talking about our special people and places and what is special about every single child. If you have any ideas you would like to add just talk to one of the nursery team :-)

A list of our core books are below.

Our core books this term are:

‘The Colour Monster’

‘Jack and the Beanstalk’

‘Jasper’s Beanstalk’

Spring Seasonal

Our core songs and rhymes this term are:

I Dig My Garden

I dig my garden, dig, dig, dig

I dig my garden, I dig it deep

I plant some seed and watch them grow,

But along comes a rabbit, oh no

He eats my carrots, munch, munch, munch

He eats my carrots, he eats the whole bunch

I run to the garden and I shoo, shoo, shoo but

The rabbit will come back, oh what shall I do?

Sleeping Bunnies

See the sleeping bunnies til it’s nearly noon

Shall we wake them with a merry tune?

They’re so still, are they ill?

No! Wake up bunnies!

Hop little bunnies, hop, hop, hop

Hop little bunnies hop, hop. hop

Hop little bunnies hop, hop, hop

Hop little bunnies hop and stop.

Five Little Peas

Five little peas in a pea pod pressed

One grew, two grew and so did all the rest,

They grew…and they grow… and they did not stop

Until one day the pod went POP!

Our Morning Song

(We sing a welsh song to say hello to our friends)

Bore da ffrindiau, sut wyt ti?

Bore da ffrindiau, sut wyt ti?

Bore da ffrindiau, sut wyt ti?

Da iawn, da iawn, diolch!

(Translation in English)

Good morning friends, how are you?

Good morning friends, how are you?

Good morning friends, how are you?

Very well, very well, thank you!
