Nursery School
It has been wonderful to welcome the children back to nursery this week. We are so proud of all of them and think they have done so well to come back and follow the usual nursery routines. This week they have really enjoyed seeing their friends and we have observed lots of lovely cooperative play as they seek out others to share a range of experiences. Many children have been eager to get outside and explore our garden and some have started to notice the first signs of spring. Fairtrade Fortnight is between 22nd February and 8th March. We have been learning about what Fairtrade means, have set up our own Fairtrade shop and tasted some Fairtrade foods. Lots of interest in our role play shop as the children took on the roles of customer and shopkeeper. They are beginning to use mathematical language within their play as they explore money and amounts. There have been lots of questions about where our foods come from which has led to conversations about how we grow foods.
One of our Core Stories this half term is 'The Colour Monster' and the children have been learning to identify different feelings and emotions within the story. As they become more familiar with the story they are able to talk about what happens with confidence and link the emotions to events that are happening within the setting.
