This week in nursery
As we continue into the first half term of the year, it is lovely to see the children settling so well into nursery life, and what a busy half term it's been! The children have enjoyed exploring the natural resources that we've found in the garden, learning about conkers and other changes that happen in autumn. This week we have been using the natural resources that we've collected to support our play, for example making cakes and potions in the mud kitchen and creating 'natural artwork' in both the indoor and outdoor environment. The children have been particularly interested in spiders, so we have been on spider hunts and had a closer look at the different shapes, patterns and sizes of spiders. Some of our core stories have been 'Aaaarrgghh, Spider!' and 'The Very Busy Spider' which the children have become familiar with and have been joining in with telling at story time. We have introduced 'Helicopter Stories' which we will be doing weekly to build upon the children's knowledge of story structure, language and imagination.
