Nursery School
We have had such glorious weather this week and this has meant lots of children have spent time in the garden. We have continued the interest in minibeasts and the children are learning to use resources such as magnifying glasses and viewing pots with care. They are also learning to show care and concern for living things and to leave logs and stones as they found them when finished. We have been discussing similarities and differences between minibeasts and have started to sort them into categories. Some of the children have used the playdough to create their own minibeasts as they develop their fine motor control and hand eye coordination and observational skills. The children have explored movement and have been moving like worms, spiders, caterpillars and bees. They are developing their spatial awareness and gross motor skills. The interest in bug hotels has continued and many of the children have started to draw plans for their own. Daisy has been supporting children in the wood working area this week and this has been a huge hit with the children! On April 22nd we celebrated Earth Day! Throughout the week we have been discussing how we can care for our planet and have shared our ideas during group time. Lots of the children have recognised what we already do but there were lots of lovely ideas we can put in place too. We have read stories about caring for our world and we have explored the role of recycling and have sorted recycling materials. We would love to hear any ideas of things you do at home 📸
