At Tremorfa Nursery School we strive to provide a physical environment that promotes independence and interdependence among children. The environment aims to recognise and foster curiosity and promote deep level learning.

When planning for the environment as the third teacher, we consider the physical environment, the emotional environment, and the cognitive environment. In doing so we can stimulate children’s interests, encourage children to take measured risk and learn from their mistakes, as well as providing challenge in a developmentally appropriate way.

We recognise the indoor and outdoor environments as having equal importance and take full advantage of our community beyond the school grounds. Our environments are set up with clear purpose and intent, whilst offering flexibility for children to explore and investigate their own interests.
