This week in nursery we have continued to explore and enjoy musical instruments. We have had visits from some musicians and the children learnt a new song to play on an African drum. We have also been following the children's interests in dinosaurs and have continued making a dinosaur world using lights and shadows. The children have been very involved in accessing the Interactive White Board this week to watch different clips and programmes about dinosaurs. We then used the overhead projector to explore shadows with plants to make our dinosaur world come to life! This week we have celebrated pancake day by making, flipping and tasting pancakes with lots of delicious fillings. Then, at the end of the week we celebrated Chinese New Year by creating a Chinese restaurant and cooking some traditional Chinese dishes for everyone to taste.

This week in nursery lots of children have become interested in playing rugby after the start of the six nations. We put up rugby posts and enjoyed playing rugby as part of the Wales team! The children have also shown a keen interest in music and have loved exploring instruments and becoming part of a band on the outdoor stage. We have made a wonderful drum kit out of old pots and pans which the children have thoroughly enjoyed playing! This week, the children have been doing lots of exploring and experimenting with clay. We spent a long time learning to use tools in the clay, moulding, cutting and shaping. The children then collaborated and shared what they had learnt and decided to create a giant volcano for a dinosaur world!
